Yu was an expert of funding evaluation for Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. He was leading China and Singapore Green Building Science and Technology Cooperation Project, and is convening "Urban Management Information Framework Standard (UMIF)" co-launched by China and UK Standardization committees.

Since 1999, Yu has presided over the development of many information systems in China and abroad, such as urban sustainable development management, cloud computing, internet security, telecommunications operations, e-banking, mobile phone applications, etc. He participated in the preparation of "Smart Card Technology - IC card, RFID Tag and Internet of Things (computer course books of Tsinghua University). He also has rich experience in product and standards R&D, international cooperation, strategy and implementation management.
